about
Doomocracy - Ghosts of the past
lyrics
No sleep tonight, the fear of dawn keeps me awake at night, in black midnight
No peace of mind, and Hypnos denied
I’m sinking to the void, unending fall
Guardian of dusk please guide my way
Help to see the light of day
Unworldly chill, the face of death is staring in my eyes
Collapsing life
The morning of my end
My ultimate finale, a requiem for my doom
A threnody of madness
Guardian of dusk please guide my way
Help me to see the light of day
A new dawn? Free from the ghosts of the past
A new hope? Can I be adorn again?
A new dawn? Free from the ghosts of the past
A new hope? Can I be free safe from harm?
I say a prayer, father in Heaven, hallowed be thy name Bless me redeemer
A bird of white, sits by my window, delivers me from death, with his eerie singing
I stand before you on this night
Will you deliver from freight?
A new dawn? Free from the ghosts of the past
A new hope? Can I be adorn again?
A new dawn? Free from the ghosts of the past
A new hope? Can I be free safe from harm?

So I can't leave a long enough review to say everything I want. But I will say this, I love this EP. It's a great little follow up to times, and has just enough of a dynamic shift in sound to prove that Smoulder isn't a one trick pony with their first album's formula. This one really plays up the 70s prog aspects (DUST and Manilla Road influences definitely shine through even harder here). It's still Smoulder, don't get me wrong. Just a different side in some ways, all of which are good. playfulpooka
